Dr. Caroline T. Bui, DC, DACBSP
DOCTOR OF CHIROPRACTIC
CERTIFIED CHIROPRACTIC SPORTS PHYSICIAN
DIPLOMATE OF THE AMERICAN CHIROPRACTIC BOARD OF SPORTS PHYSICIANS
Dr. Bui was born and raised in Huntington Beach, California. She played soccer all of her life until multiple injuries and a few knee operations forced her to stop pursuing athletics. In her last year of high school, she became a student athletic trainer with the football team. Since her formative years, every doctor that helped her get through her personal injuries sparked an interest in sports medicine, injury prevention, and rehabilitation. She graduated from California State University of Fullerton, where she earned her bachelor's of science degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis on Athletic Training. She furthered her studies at Southern California University of Health Sciences and earned her Doctorate of Chiropractic. Throughout graduate school, she served on the executive boards for the Student Body, attended multiple seminars nationwide, volunteered at the Los Angeles Dream Center, interned at SCUHS, a few other health clinics as well as CSULA's Student Health Center. She even had the opportunity to travel to South America (Cochabamba, Bolivia) to participate in a life-changing mission trip to serve the under privileged population and she plans to continue doing these trips in the future in other countries to spread her love of Chiropractic.
Dr. Bui has successfully completed the requirements to be certified a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician® (CCSP®) by the American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians™ (ACBSP™). The CCSP® certification requires the doctor to attend additional hours; a minimum of 100 hours of a 120 hour postgraduate program.
Additionally, she also has sucessfully earned her Diplomate of the American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians (DACBSP®) designation . The DACBSP® certification requires the doctor to attend a minimum of 300 hours of postgraduate education. This instruction is specific to evaluating physical fitness and the assessment and treatment of injuries encountered in sports. Following the completion of these hours, the doctor must then take and successfully pass a comprehensive written examination. The doctor must also successfully complete a practical (hands-on) examination. In addition, the doctor must have a sports-related paper published in a peer-reviewed journal and a minimum of 100 hours providing hands-on treatment to athletes outside of the clinical setting.
Both the CCSP and DACBSP serve to make Dr. Bui an expert in the prevention and treatment of athletic injuries by enhancing her diagnostic skills and patient care. The DACBSP accreditation exists to provide a uniform standard of education that assures teams and athletes that the doctor has met a high level of competency in Chiropractic Sports Medicine. This post-doctoral distinction is achieved by less than 411 Chiropractic doctors nationally.
